Snowmageddon 2012- A weather induced boat work party!

Not the typical Tuesday here on beautiful Whidbey Island. A fierce winter storm blew down from the north bringing with it cold temperatures which, when mixed with our local warmer air, created a winter wonderland. I woke up on Tuesday morning expecting to meet my friend Kyle for coffee and contemplative conversation as we do every Tuesday and instead was greeted by a snowy forecast and icy roads. Opting to "wait it out" under the sheets and our down comforter for another hour or two, I called Kyle to let him know I wouldn't be making it from Coupeville down to Freeland in light of the adverse weather conditions.

Tina, unable to sleep after hearing my early morning conversation and the report of snowy weather, woke up and sat staring excitedly out the window, hopeful of the prospect for school cancellations and her chance to stay at home. When I woke up an hour or so later, she was elated by the news that school was in fact canceled and she was "living in a snow globe... swirling around". I decided I'd stay home too. I was supposed to be heading to Olympia, but instead, I headed over to my neighbor's barn where Mayhem! is tucked away nicely under cover and awaiting the loving caress of an orbital sander and a sheet of 60 grit at 10,000 rpms.
Not even snow and sub-freezing temperatures are gonna stop me from making progress on Mayhem!
