The hullsides, top sides and boot stripe are done! While it didn't turn out absolutely perfect, it is a major improvement. The main "imperfection" is quite a few "pin holes" visible in the dark blue boot stripe. We are very glad that we decided on white for hull sides rather than a dark color. The white is very shiny and smooth and covers up imperfections much better than the dark blue.
Now that we have the boat back and parked indoors, we can begin the final phase of restoration which includes:
1) Repainting the toe rail
2) Fairing the keel & rudder
3) Epoxy barrier coat on the bottom
4) Baltoplate (hard racing bottom paint) on the bottom
5) Kiwigrip Non-skid on top side
6) Re-bed hardware.
7) Start winning races!
Enjoy the pics! I didn't have a lot of time... I'll add pictures of the cabin (which turned out incredible) as soon as I can. Notice the reflection on the hullsides while fueling up... you can almost read the gas meter!
