Progress is slow... but it is progress.

I've now moved above the water line and have sanded most of the boat from the water line up to the toe rail all the way down to the gel coat. Once this is done, I'll be ready to move up top to get things cleaned up a bit and ready to paint.

At this point I am about 10 days behind schedule as to where I'd like to be. I want to have this boat completely sanded and ready for fairing by February 11th. A few weeks for fairing and then she'll be ready for paint by early March (hopefully) This means that I need to be done sanding by end of next weekend so the boat can be inside and warming up for 5-7 days prior to fairing. This is going to be very difficult. If I could get another crazy snowstorm and be snowed out of work for a few days this week I might make it... otherwise, I'll likely be a week late on that goal. Who knows... maybe I'll have a party of volunteers come over with sanders and 60 grit and decide to help! It would be really fast if I had like 6 guys with disc sanders or random orbit sanders come over with pizza and energy drinks and just go to town...

I never thought I'd say this but tonight, I'll be praying for and dreaming about a team of strapping men...

About half way down the port side in this pic. You can see the gel coat (off white) on left and the white paint that is being sanded off on right.

Once the hull is sanded all the way around, it will be on to the top...
